Our History

DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center has been part of the fabric of this community for decades. Founded on a mission to provide care for those who need it most, we’ve grown from a small, county-run operation into a vibrant, forward-thinking care center known for putting people first.

Over the years, we’ve adapted and expanded to meet the changing needs of our residents and families. We’ve added specialized programs like our Transitional Care Unit (TCU) to support recovery and rehab, and we’ve created Country View Square, a secure and thoughtfully designed memory care neighborhood for individuals living with memory loss.

Recent years have brought renewed focus to quality and innovation. We now have a dedicated Community Liaison who helps build meaningful connections with residents, families, and the wider DeKalb County community. And in 2023, the formation of the Oversight Board helped ensure transparency, accountability, and resident-centered decision-making at every level.

Through it all, one thing has remained the same: our unwavering commitment to treating people with the respect, warmth, and dignity they deserve.
